This piece speaks to the boogie man in all of our lives. That being who scares us but at the same time makes us feel so alive. This interplay between fear and aliveness is at play in this work. Why is it that fear makes us so alive? Is it merely a biological imperative or is it that we like to be afraid? I suppose both could be true. It is as though we seek it out at times walking that tight rope between safety and danger. Perhaps, intrinsically we need this to wake us up from our myopic states. Has society become so work driven that we are lulling ourselves into a state of myopathy? This piece is made with quality paints and is on stretched canvas. It was made with acrylic and oil pastels. The frame comes with this painting.
