This highly expressive artwork is a nod to the Atchafalaya Swamp at sunset. It expresses the moment when the swamp comes alive and the symphony of the night begins. It also evokes the lively night life of Southern Louisiana. The deep blue in the piece pulls you into the shadows of the swamp only lit by the soft moonlight. The vibrant colors pull you forward toward the fleeting light of the day. This push and pull is not unlike the character of the Cajun Culture. They maintain their traditions and yet struggle to maintain that in the face of modernity. This tension is the center point of the piece.
